Light:They can tolerate low light levels for short periods, but grows best in good indirect
light from an east or west facing window. Give protection from strong sunlight inthe summer.
Water:Water moderately throughout the year and allow the top 1-2 inches of soil to dryout between waterings. Don't leave excess water to stand in the plant saucer.
Temp:This plant thrives in normal room temperatures throughout the year, providing thenight temperature does not fall below 60 to 65 degrees.
Soil:Regular potting soil is fine.
Fertilizer:Feed with diluted liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during the growing season. Do not
feed during the winter.
Pests:Spider mites, Mealy bugs, thrips and scale.
Special Care:Individual stems can be cut back to any desired height if the plant grows too tall.
New shoots will sprout from the cut spot. They will survive for many years with

Growth Habit:The plant has an upright habit of growth with long, lance-shaped leaves growing
around a central stem. Lower leaves with gradually drop off as new leaves grow

Fun Fact:From tropical Africa, Dracaena deremensis grows to the size of a small tree. It
will be much smaller, up to 7 or 8 feet high with a spread of 2 feet, when the roots
are confined in a pot.
