Light:Indirect sunlight. Plants should be placed near a window, preferably with morning sunand afternoon shade. If they do not receive enough sunlight, the leaves will turn.green and lose their burgandy color. Rotate the plant weekly to evenly distribute thelight on the entire plant.
Water:Plants should be watered so that the soil is completely saturated and excess water runs out the bottom of the pot. Allow the top inch or two to dry out between watering.
Temp:Ficus trees should be kept between 60 and 85 degrees.
Soil:A well-drained soil is best. Adding perlite and coarse sand to your potting soil willensure good drainage.
Fertilizer:Water-soluable fertilizers can be used every 2 weeks. Stop fertilizing in late October
and resume feeding in late February.
Pests:Mealybugs, aphids, spider mites, thrips and scale.
Special Care:Keep away from air-conditioning vents, heaters and drafts.
