Light:The plants needs full sun to keeptheir compact shape.
Water:Ample water should be provided. Never let plants dry out.
Temp:The temperature should be on the cool side. The leaves begin to color up in
the fall as the nightime temperature drops below 50 degrees.
Soil:Use rich, well drained soil that is neutral or slightly alkaline.
Fertilizer:Feed weekly with dilute liquid fertilizer during the summer, but stop feeding
Pests:Cabbage loopers and worms.
Special Care:They need plemty of water and weekly feeding with dilute liquid fertilizer.
Flower Color:White and red.
Growth Habit:Seeds will germinate in 2-3 weeks at a temperature of 60-65 degrees. They will
grow rapidly to 12 inches or more across and about 12-15 inches high.
Potted plants are also available from nurseries.
Fun Fact:Ornamental Kale are grown for decoration and not for eating. They can be
eaten but have a bitter taste.
