FERN, Boston Wedding
[FB10FE BO WEDD]

Unit Pack Size: Bask 10"
SPECIAL ORDER ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Light:During the summer the fern usually gets enough light, but make sure it also gets
enough in the winter or else the fronds will wither.

Water:In the summer the plant will need lots of water and frequent misting. In the winter
it needs less water. The potting soil should not be allowed to dry out completely.Water the plant by submerging the whole pot in a bucket of water so the soil
surface is covered and let it absorb water for 15-30 minutes.

Temp:This fern likes a cool spot, 61-65 degrees in the summer, though in the winter
the temperature must not fall below 50 degrees.

Soil:Potting soil should be light and porous, preferably with lots of sand and peat moss.

Fertilizer:Apply a slow-release granular fertilizer. If using a water-soluble fertilizer, dilute itby half. Feed weekly throughout the year.

Pests:Scale, spider mites, thrip and mealy bug.

Special Care:Boston ferns need high humidity which can be provided by frequent misting during daylight hours. They can be kept on wide saucers of damp pebbles.

Flower Color:This plant does not flower.

Growth Habit:Long, graceful fronds are characteristic of this plant. The fronds hang over thesides of the pot or basket.

Fun Fact:The fronds produce sugar from water and carbon dioxide, and reproduction is
ensured by the brown or black spores that form in clusters on the underside of the fronds. They cover their spore clusters with a tiny brown kidney-shaped cap.

The key to a happy plant is proper care!
