COLUMNEA, Lipstick*
[FB08CO LI]

Unit Pack Size: Bask 8"

Light:They should stand in a spot with plenty of light, but not in direct sunlight.

Water:Water the plant often in the growing season, and mist it regularly. It can tolerate
slight drying out in between waterings. Water more sparingly in the rest period.

Temp:They like heat in the summer, but they can grow well in a normal room temperature. The winter temperature should be about 60-65 degrees.

Soil:The soil should be airy and rich in plant matter.

Fertilizer:Fertilize often in the growing season.

Pests:Spider mites and aphids.

Special Care:Can be trimmed back if the stems are too long.

Flower Color:The red or orange flowers are long and tubular, and grow clustered together in groups.

Growth Habit:Most Aeschynanthus are grown as hanging plants and can have vines up to 2' long
Many of the new hybrids have a more upright growth. The leaves are shiny, oval and
dark green, and can be rather thick and leathery.

Fun Fact:The botanical name comes from the Greek word "Aischyne", meaning modesty,
and the work "anthus", meaning flower. It was given this name because of the red
blush which some varieties have at the edges of the flowers.

The key to a happy plant is proper care!
