Light:Full sun to partial shade.
Water:Ample watering during summer months will be rewarded with more growth, but they do not like to stand in wet, mucky soil.
Temp:High temperatures in the summer are quite tolerated, but not cooler temperatures that fall below the mid twenties (F.)
Soil:Well drained, sandy soil.
Fertilizer:Fertilizer burn can easily occur with Bismarkia grown indoors. If you feel it's needed, fertilize during the summer growing season only,
and mix at 1/4 recommended rate.
Pests:This specie seems to be more susceptible to poor culture than to insect infestation.
Special Care:Lots of light, humidity and good drainage is the key.
Growth Habit:If growing in a container as opposed to the ground, it likes a big pot with plenty of root room. Growth rate is much slower in a container.
In it's native habitat, it can reach up to 60 feet!
