Light:They cannot tolerate direct sunlight and prefers to grow in an east-facing window
Water:This plant needs regular watering and should never be allowed to dry out. Water
once a week in the summer and only when needed in the winter. High humidity
is very important so mist frequently.
Temp:It should be kept warm and not exposed to drafts. Lower 70's in the summer andupper 60's in the winter suit it best.
Soil:A course soil with lots of organic matter such as leaf mold or peat moss is best.
Fertilizer:Feed every third time you water.
Special Care:Only water with purified water.
Flower Color:It does not produce flowers.
Growth Habit:Large, glossy leaves can be up to 2' long and 6" to 8" wide. They increase in size by constantly sending up new leaves from the middle.
Fun Fact:They form a funnel at the center to collect rainwater and any stray bits of vegetation
which may come along. This forms a "compost" from which the fern gets it nutrition.
