We have JRC Trucking on site, they are the dedicated carrier for all of our plants and also haul freight.  If you or someone you know has a need to have freight delivered or picked up from somewhere, give us a call and we will transfer your call to them.  Their business hours are the same as ours most of the year, however, they are sometimes around later than we are.

This summer we started a new bio-control program which has reduced our spray program down to almost nothing, we are using beneficial insects as well as natural sprays.  The insects are from Biobest ( and we have noticed a considerable difference, both on our bottom line, and with the amount of control as compared to chemical insecticides.  If you receive a plant with something labeled Biobest on it, do not be alarmed, these are beneficial insects and will not harm your plants.  We have also started using a different potting media, mulch, from Saint Louis Composting (, it seems that this has cut back on much of our need to apply fungicide drenches (we have not done so yet) and our plants seem to be stronger than ever.  Research has shown that natural mulch has inherent antifungal and antiviral properties, and so far it seems to be true.  Both of these are still in the testing phase, however, we feel that they will soon be how we grow all of our plants at JoAnn's Greenhouse.  This will lead to a more economical, safe, and easier method of growing our plants while helping out the local economy.
